Karen doodled her way through high school and college as she earned her B.S. in Education from Kent State University (Elementary Ed./Special Education) and M.A. from Ashland University (Educational Technology).  She taught technology for most of the 30 years that she taught before retiring in 2020.  Even though she hand quilted for over 35 years, she bought her first long arm machine in 2018 and her life was changed forever.

Once she became HandiQuilter National Educator in 2021, she found that she loved turning her doodles into digitized quilt designs.  She loves combining her artistic side with her knowledge of technology and teaching others how to create their own designs.  She has taught Pro-Stitcher Designer at the HandiQuilter Academy for the last 3 years as well as in many quilt shops around the country.
